Customer confused about data loss #97801

Hello Ben,

Thanks for the details, that helps. From what you described, this almost certainly sounds like unlinking rather than deletion. In TheBrain, removing links detaches a thought from its parent(s) but does not delete the thought or its notes.

Here’s the quickest way to verify and fix it in the web client:

  1. Confirm you’re signed into the intended account (you mentioned both ben.gozlan@gmail.com and ben@guideline.co.il). Make sure you’re in the Brain where you noticed the change.
  2. Find the “missing” items with Search or Reports. Use the search bar to locate the thought by name or a unique word from its notes. You can also open Reports to list thoughts and jump to the one you’re looking for.
  3. Check the change history for that thought. Once you’ve located it, right‑click the thought and choose Brain History. That will show exactly what happened (for example, links removed, parent changed, etc.) and when.
  4. Relink if needed. Center the “orphaned” thought, then drag it onto the intended parent (or use the Link/Attach command) to restore the relationship. If a thought became a root, that just means its parent link was removed, relinking will put it back in context.

If you can’t locate a specific item via search, send me the exact thought name and roughly when you last saw it linked, and I’ll help you zero in on it. I can also extend your trial so you have more time to evaluate without pressure, just confirm which account email you want the extension applied to.

Best regards,

John
