v15.0.81: Notes editor almost unusable on macOS #98688

Hello Marc,

Thank you again for the detailed reports and the sample note. We reviewed it on our end, and interestingly, the slowdown you’re seeing does not occur on our test machines, even with the same notes.md file.

That tells us the issue may not be caused by the note itself, but potentially by something else in the environment such as:

• Other data being displayed in the same view

• A specific setting in your configuration

• Something unique to this particular Brain’s structure or content

To move forward, we’ll need two things so we can reproduce the issue as you see it:

1. A screen recording
2. Please record the full TheBrain 15 window (uncropped) while you scroll, edit, or navigate to/from the affected thought. This helps us see exactly what is being rendered on screen when the slowdown happens.
4. A .brz backup of the Brain where this occurs
5. This will allow us to test the full environment rather than just the notes.md file.

If you prefer not to share your full Brain, you can instead:

• Create a new Brain,

• Copy the problematic thought(s) and structure into it,

• Confirm that the slowness still happens,

• Then send us the .brz of that minimal version.

Once we have the screen recording and the .brz, we’ll be able to test under identical conditions and move this forward with engineering.
