Fedora Linux, Notes Editor Formatting Not Working #100830

https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/100830

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out and for sending the details.

Rich text formatting in the notes editor, including formatting such as bold and italic, should be available in TheBrain 15. Since you are currently on 15.0.559.0, please update to the latest Alpha build first and test again, as there have been newer fixes since that version.

Please try this:

  1. Open TheBrain.
  2. Go to Main Menu > Settings > Device.
  3. Set Device Update Channel to Alpha.
  4. Go to Help > Check for Updates.
  5. Install the latest available update.
  6. Restart TheBrain.

After updating, please test the notes editor again.

For bold, you can try selecting text and using:

Ctrl+B

For italic:

Ctrl+I

Please also check whether the formatting controls appear when working in the note editor after selecting text.

If bold, italic, or highlight still do not work after updating, please send us:

  1. A short screen recording showing the issue.
  2. Your Fedora version.
  3. Whether this happens in every Brain or only one Brain.
  4. The Output.log from right after testing the formatting.

To find the log file, please go to:

Main Menu > Help > Open Log Directory

Then attach the file named Output.log.

Once we have that after testing on the latest Alpha build, we can review whether this is specific to the Fedora/RPM build.

Best regards,

John
