QUESTION: Hello,

How can I create a MarkDown Template?

I am using the Daily Journal Brain to customize my journal page.

I would like the template to be a MarkDown file. The following is

my format:

Section One: JoiHaven Prayer Call

Section Two:

(checkBox) name1

(checkBox) name2

(checkBox) name3

.

.

.

Section Three:

Pray for...

Activities for the Day

What are your BIG ROCKS for the day?

What is your primary practice for the day?

Express your gratitude for this moment.

I have the file layout in MarkDown in journal thought for the day.

How can I save it as template so I won't have to copy and paste

every day?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Is there a tutorial video or a help page?

Thank you for your great product and excellent customer service.

Charles

ANSWER:

Hello Charles,

Thank you for reaching out!

There are a couple of approaches you can explore to achieve your desired setup:

OPTION 1: (Easier and direct)

  1. Create a thought or jumpthought called "My Template."
  2. In the notes section of this thought, you can format your content as follows:

Section One: JoiHaven Prayer Call

Section Two:

...

  1. To make this easily accessible, right-click on the thought and pin it for quick copy-and-paste access to new thoughts.

OPTION 2: (Closer to Your Request)

  1. Create a .md (Markdown) file using the format outlined above (or if you already have one ready) and save it.
  2. Add this file to your Brain's template list. To do this, simply click on Attach > Templates Help > Will prompt you to open a file location > Paste or move your .md file in there.
  3. When needed, you can attach it from the template list and use it directly.
