Thank you for the additional details, that helps.

To understand exactly what the Notes editor is doing on your machine, I still need to see a short screen recording when you have a moment. The steps you described are clear, but the recording will show whether the editor is entering an active editing state or whether something in the workflow is preventing those insert commands from enabling.

In the meantime, there are two quick checks you can try:

1. After clicking inside the note, press Return once to make sure the editor is fully active, then look again at Note > Insert to see if the items enable.
2. If your goal is to add an image from your local drive, the most reliable path is to use the attachment button (paperclip icon) above the Notes panel. That will let you choose an image directly from your Mac and attach it to the thought.

The Insert > Image option is designed for adding images via a web URL, which is why you’re seeing a link field appear.

Once I have the screen recording, I’ll be able to confirm what state the Notes editor is entering and guide you from there.
