SQLite error 1, Jaime #97274

Hello Jaime,
Thank you for sending the video and the clear explanation, that helps a lot.
It looks like your local data may have become corrupted, which can happen if syncing tools like OneDrive or other external programs interact with TheBrain’s folders. To get you up and running again, we’ll need to reset your local setup.
Before we begin, please make sure your Brains are:
- Synced to the cloud (you can check at https://app.thebrain.com), or
- Backed up as
.brzfiles via File > Backup to Brain Archive
Please confirm this before proceeding, as the steps below will clear local data.
Step 1: Rename your Brains folder
Go to C:\Users\[your username]\Brains
Rename the folder to BrainsOld
(This prevents TheBrain from accessing any potentially corrupted content)
Step 2: Reset the local database
Go to C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\TheBrain\MetaDB
(Enable hidden items in File Explorer if you don’t see AppData)
Rename the file TheBrainMeta.db to TheBrainMeta.db.old
(This clears cached user data that may be causing the crash)
Step 3: Relaunch TheBrain
Open the app and log in again. It will start fresh and you can re-download your Brains or restore from backup.
Going forward, to avoid this happening again:
- Avoid placing your Brains folder inside cloud-synced folders (like OneDrive or Dropbox)
- Don’t use third-party tools to modify files directly inside TheBrain’s folders
- Use
.brzbackups for any manual transfers or archiving
Please give these steps a try and let me know how it goes, happy to help if anything’s unclear.
Best regards,
John
