Thank you for writing in and sharing this with us. You’re right, typing square brackets for task entry isn’t working in the current build. For now, you can still create a task quickly by starting a line with a hyphen followed by a space (- ).

The good news is that support for square brackets [ ] is already being added back and will be included in the very next build.
