Copy HTML and table structure keep #97649

Hi Louis,
Thanks for your patience
.
If you want to copy notes out of TheBrain with formatting preserved, there’s a built‑in option that works better than a standard copy‑paste:
- In the Notes editor, select the portion of text you want to export.
- Right‑click and choose Copy as HTML Source.
- Paste that into your target application.
This copies the formatted HTML version of your notes, which usually gives a cleaner result when pasting into other programs.
That said, when pasting into Word in particular, keep in mind that Microsoft Word uses its own proprietary formatting engine. It converts everything you paste (including HTML or Markdown) into its internal format, and sometimes that conversion doesn’t come across exactly as expected. This behavior is on Word’s side rather than TheBrain’s, so even with HTML source you may occasionally need to tidy up the formatting after pasting.
If you just need clean data (for example, for tables), exporting to Excel first is still the most reliable method.
Best regards,
John
