To which extent do Cloudservices use AI #99008

https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/99008

Hello Katrina,

Thank you for reaching out, and I appreciate the thoughtful questions. These are important considerations, especially for users who prefer to keep AI optional or completely out of the experience.

To clarify how TheBrain uses AI and how it interacts with your content:

TheBrain Cloud Services do not use AI to process, analyze, or scan your data. Cloud services only handle syncing, storage, and delivery of your Brain data between devices. There is no AI involvement in cloud operations. Cerebro, the AI assistant, is completely optional and only activates when a user opens the AI panel and sends a prompt. No data is sent anywhere unless a user explicitly chooses to interact with it.

If you publish a Brain, visitors will not see or access any AI features. Publicly shared Brains do not expose the AI panel, and your customers can browse your published structures normally without anything AI-related appearing on their screen.

TheBrain also does not push AI or require it. Cerebro stays closed unless manually opened, and you can use TheBrain 15 exactly the way you used earlier versions.

Regarding your concern about AI model training: your Brain data is not used to train AI models. When AI is used, the data is processed only to generate the specific response and is not stored, reused, or retained by the model. Our contracts with AI vendors enforce this behavior.

If you'd like more specifics about how published Brains are handled or additional details about privacy protections, I’d be happy to provide them.

Best regards,

John
