MAC App Cannot see Brains #99415

https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/99415

Hello Erik,

Thank you for the details, that helps narrow this down.

Since you’re able to access your Brains on the web and on iOS, this points to a local application state issue on the Mac rather than a problem with your account or data.

First, please confirm that you’re signed into the desktop app using the same email address you use on the web. If you’re not signed in, the app will show “No Brains” even though they exist in the cloud.

If you are signed in and still see no Brains, please try resetting the local app state. This is safe and does not remove any Brain data.

  1. Quit TheBrain completely
  2. Open Finder
  3. Select Go, then Go to Folder
  4. Paste this path and press Enter
  5. ~/.TheBrain
  6. Locate the folder named MetaDB
  7. Rename it to MetaDB_old
  8. Relaunch TheBrain and sign in again if prompted

This will rebuild the local UI and cache, but it does not affect your Brains or cloud sync.

If the issue continues after this, please let us know and include the exact version number you’re running, along with the Output.log file, and we’ll take the next step.

Best regards,

John
