Restore PB13 Brain Data Folder Location #101030

https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/101030

Hello Kersten,

Thank you. This confirms that PB13 is currently looking at a different Brain Data Folder.

Your original Brain data appears to still be located here:

C:\aaData\00PB01

PB13 is currently looking here instead:

C:\Users\kerst\Brains

Since C:\aaData\00PB01 still contains folders such as U00 and U01, the next step is to point PB13 back to that folder.

Before changing anything, please complete these safety steps:

Step A: Close PB13 and PB15 completely.

Step B: Make a full Windows folder copy of:

C:\aaData\00PB01

For example:

C:\aaData\00PB01_backup_do_not_delete

Step C: Make a full copy of:

C:\Users\kerst\Brains

This may contain the dummy Brain created in PB15, and we do not want to lose anything from either location.

After both copies are complete:

Step D: Open PB13 and return to the setting where the Brain Data Folder currently shows:

C:\Users\kerst\Brains

Step E: Change the Brain Data Folder to:

C:\aaData\00PB01

Step F: Close and restart PB13.

Please check whether your original local Brains return to the Brain list.

Do not uninstall PB15 or use Restore previous version yet. Also, please do not open the recovered Brains in PB15 until we first confirm that PB13 can see and open them correctly.

If the Brains return and open normally, please immediately create a Brain Archive backup for each important Brain using:

File > Backup to Brain Archive

Please let us know what appears after PB13 is restarted with C:\aaData\00PB01 selected.

Best regards,

John
