Move attachment from one thought to another? #98251

Hello Lars,

Thank you very much for outlining the steps you took, much appreciated. The setting in Preferences > Behavior for drag-and-drop applies when you’re dragging files into TheBrain from outside applications (e.g., Finder or Explorer). It does not currently apply when dragging attachments between thoughts inside TheBrain. That’s why you’re seeing duplicates instead of a true move.

At the moment, the best way to move an attachment between thoughts is:

• Right-click the file attachment under the source thought > Cut, then
• Go to the target thought and Paste in the Attachments area.

If you paste into the note body instead, it will only insert the file path, not the attachment itself.
