Thanks for confirming those details.

It sounds like your Brain itself may have a Light note theme applied rather than a system-wide issue. Please try this:

1. Open any thought.
2. In the Notes editor toolbar, click the Notes Style button (it looks like a small paintbrush or theme icon).
3. Check which theme is currently selected, if it says Light, change it to one of the Dark options

That should bring your notes section back to dark mode.
