Message is confusing in the web version #99009

Hello Paul,

Thank you for reaching out. The red highlights and the message about “adding a rule to the style guide” are not coming from TheBrain. They are generated by a browser extension, most commonly Grammarly, LanguageTool, or another writing-assistant plugin.

That also explains the duplicated text you’re seeing (“team team”). The extension is interpreting what’s on the page and inserting its own suggestions.

To confirm, please try the following:

• Temporarily disable your writing assistant extensions (Grammarly, LanguageTool, etc.)

• Refresh the TheBrain web page

• Check whether the red highlights disappear

Once disabled, the message about style-guide rules should fully go away.

If you’re unsure which extension is causing it, feel free to send a screenshot of your browser extensions list and I’ll help identify it.
