Creating links #97762
https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/97762
Hello Seth,
Thank you for reaching out.
If you mean links in the traditional TheBrain sense, the best way to create them between Thoughts is shown in this short video:
https://thebrain.com/support/tutorials#Thoughts-and-Links
For mapped links, backlinks, and unlinked mentions, you can check this tutorial:
https://thebrain.com/support/tutorials#mapped-links-backlinks-and-unlinked-mentions
If you mean URL links, here’s how they work:
- Local URL link -creates a link to that Thought on your computer only. It will not work on other machines.
- Web URL link - creates a shareable link to that Thought that anyone with access can open online.
For #3, linking between different Brains is not automatic - you can paste a web link from one Brain into another, but the person clicking it would need permission or access to the source Brain, (unless the brains are under 1 account) which you can enable in Online > Brains access and sharing
Could you please elaborate on #2? When you say “creating the link through the expression or word in the document,” do you mean hyperlinking specific text inside the Notes editor to another Thought or URL?
If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out, I’m here to help.
Best regards,
John
