Support request from lary@kirchenbauer.com sync new stuff #98828

https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/98828

Hello Lary,

Thank you for the update, and I completely understand why this situation feels urgent. We want to make sure the correct, most recent version of your Brain is preserved, especially since your 13-inch iPad still has the latest work.

Before we proceed with any syncing, here is the most important point:

The version on your 13-inch iPad can become the new “authoritative” version if it creates a new change and successfully syncs.

In TheBrain, the newest edit always wins as long as the sync completes normally.

However, because your other devices recently reverted to the November 29 state, this suggests the sync process may currently be in a conflicted or partial state. When that happens, the app may not accept new changes until the underlying metadata is clean.

To protect your latest work, here is the safe path forward:

1. First, create a BrainZip backup on the 13-inch iPad if the option is available.

If BrainZip export is not available on your iPad model, please let me know and we’ll take a different protective step.

2. Once your backup is secured, make one small new change on the 13-inch iPad

(for example, create a temporary new thought titled “Sync Test”).

This ensures the iPad holds the newest timestamp.

3. After that, allow the iPad to sync.

If the sync completes fully, the iPad’s version, and the missing week of work, should propagate to the cloud and then to your desktop and 11-inch iPad.

If anything blocks the sync, or if you see a message other than a normal completion, please stop and send me that screenshot immediately. We’ll avoid any further rollback and take the next step safely.

You still have the current, most complete version on your 13-inch iPad, so we are in a good position to recover everything without data loss. We just need to proceed carefully to ensure the correct version becomes the master copy.

I’m here and will walk you through each step. Just let me know once the backup is made or if you need help locating that option.

Best regards,

John
