At the moment, the Card view in TheBrain 15 is still a work in progress. The current implementation focuses on automatically generated selections (such as sorting by newer or older thoughts), and it does not yet offer full control via a context menu to generate cards for an explicitly chosen thought or a custom selection (for example, a specific thought plus only its immediate children).

So to answer your question directly: this feature is not yet in its final stage. More flexibility around selection criteria and context-based card generation is still being worked on as part of the ongoing development of version 15.

Your use case, being able to define exactly which thoughts are included in a Card view, is a reasonable one, and feedback like this is important for shaping how the feature evolves.
