Thanks for describing this so clearly.

What you’re seeing is most likely triggered by an accidental double click on the splitter bar. In v15, double clicking the splitter swaps the Plex and the content area, which would explain why the notes suddenly move from the left to the middle and the Plex shifts position. Because this can happen during a drag, it can feel random even though it’s tied to that interaction.

In addition to the splitter itself, there is also a dedicated layout button in the top area of the interface, near the sync arrows. That button lets you explicitly set and adjust the panel orientation, including which side the notes and Plex appear on, without relying on dragging or double clicking the splitter.

Being aware of both the double click behavior and the layout button should help keep the panels in the arrangement you prefer.
