TheBrain Slowing down (Debug mode) #96115

Thank you for reaching out and for monitoring the issue closely. I appreciate the details you’ve provided so far. To better understand what’s causing the slowdown, could you clarify a few things?

  1. Debugging & Tracing Mode:
    • Debug and Tracing mode should not normally be turned on, as they are intended for internal debugging. Could you confirm how it was enabled on your system?
    • Have you since disabled it? If not, please try turning it off and check if performance improves.
  1. Brain Size & Performance Impact:
    • How large is your Brain (e.g., number of thoughts, attachments, or total database size)?
    • Are there specific actions that seem slower than usual (e.g., searching, opening thoughts, linking thoughts, etc.)?
  1. System & Version Details:
    • Are you using TheBrain on Windows or macOS?
    • Which version of TheBrain are you currently running?
  1. Log File & Tracebacks:
    • You mentioned seeing Debugging log output, could you clarify what kind of messages are appearing?
    • If possible, could you provide a snippet of the relevant log entries where you noticed performance concerns?
    • Do send in an output.log file as well (Help > Open Log Directories)
