SQLite 19 persistent issue (brain rename and metadb reset) #97035

https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/97035

Hello again, Simon!

Thanks for giving the MetaDB reset a try earlier. To fully resolve the issue, we’ll need to take one additional step, renaming your Brains folder. When combined with the MetaDB reset, this will ensure that TheBrain downloads a clean version of your data from the cloud.

Step 1: Rename the Brains folder

  1. Close TheBrain completely.
  2. Navigate to:

C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\TheBrain\Brains

  1. Rename the folder to BrainsOld

(This prevents TheBrain from using any potentially corrupted local data.)

Step 2: Perform the MetaDB reset again

  1. Go to:

C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\TheBrain\MetaDB

  1. Locate the file named TheBrainMeta.db and rename it to TheBrainMeta.db.old
  2. Restart TheBrain and log in again

(This will create a fresh metadata database and trigger a clean sync.)

After completing these two steps, TheBrain will re-download your synced Brains from the cloud, and the issue should be fully resolved.

Let me know how it goes, or if anything comes up during the process.

Best regards,

John
