Query: Searching for Types #98793

Hello Dewey,
Thank you for writing in, and thank you as well for the kind words. I’m glad TheBrain has been useful to you over the years.
If you want to find all thoughts of a specific Type within the area you’re working in, the easiest way is to use the Types and Tags browser. In the desktop app, it’s the icon in the upper-left that looks like a set of circles, squares, and triangles. Clicking that will open a list of all Types in your Brain. Selecting a Type will show every thought assigned to it.
If you need to limit that list specifically to the children or descendants of the current thought, you can combine the Type filter with the Reports feature. Reports lets you filter by Type, then narrow by relationships such as children, descendants, siblings, etc.
Here is a video on it: https://thebrain.com/support/tutorials#Thought-Types
Best regards,
John
