Jeff’s metadb.reset #95873
https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/95873
Hello Jeff,
Thank you for reaching out! Based on the issue you’re experiencing, performing a MetaDB reset can help resolve potential database-related problems. Here’s how to do it on your Windows device:
- Close TheBrain if it is currently running.
- Navigate to:
C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\TheBrain\MetaDB.- If you cannot see the AppDatafolder, you may need to enable hidden files:
- Open File Explorer and click View > Options.
- Go to the View tab and select Show hidden files, folders, and drives, then click OK.
- If you cannot see the AppDatafolder, you may need to enable hidden files:
- Locate the file named TheBrainMeta.db.
- Rename it to TheBrainMeta.db.old.
- Restart TheBrain and log in again.
This process will prompt TheBrain to create a fresh database upon restart, which often resolves issues tied to database corruption.
If you encounter any challenges during the process or the issue persists, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here to help!
Best regards,
John
