Open in TheBrain

Sonja ticket almost solved #98756

https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/98756

Hello Sonja,

Thank you for the detailed follow-up and for sending the new Output.log. Your clarifications help a lot, and based on what you’ve described, here’s what we can confirm so far:

• Your personal Brain and new blank Brains open normally in TheBrain 15.

• The issue only appears when opening sample Brains through “Open Brain in Desktop Client.”

• Your log shows that TheBrain 15 itself is loading correctly.

About the sample Brains

“Open Brain in Desktop Client” does not download a Brain. It simply instructs the desktop app to open a Brain that is already local. For sample Brains, this can cause what you’re seeing. I’ll follow up once we confirm the expected behavior on our side.

About default event settings

Right now, TheBrain 15 does not offer a preference to change the default event duration or default “All Day” setting. You can edit each event, but the default cannot be changed yet.

About the buttons you mentioned

You listed:

• “Show Events”

• “Show Thought”

• “Show Thoughts By”

I want to make sure I’m looking at the correct part of the interface. These specific buttons do not appear in the standard timeline controls in our current builds, so they may be coming from a different panel or layout mode.

Could you please send me a screenshot of where you see these buttons in your interface?

This will help me confirm whether you are in a different view, a collapsed toolbar state, or whether something else is appearing due to an interaction in the beta.

Google Calendar sync

This feature is no longer supported and isn’t available in TheBrain 15, 14 and previous versions, it has been discontinued due to insane instability issues between the APIs.

Next step

Once I receive your screenshot, I’ll compare it with the current internal build and guide you from there. Everything else in your log looks stable, so we’re getting closer to isolating what’s happening.

Best regards,

John
