Hello Ron,

Thank you for sending the details and the log file. I had a chance to review your description, and I think I see what’s happening.

The .BRZ file format is TheBrain’s own archive format and can only be generated directly by TheBrain itself (via File > Backup Brain or File > Export). If a .BRZ is created by another tool or generated externally (for example from Markdown), it won’t have the internal data structures TheBrain expects, which explains why the import appears to run but then fails to open.

That’s why your other .BRZ imports worked fine, those came from TheBrain, while this one did not.

To bring in content from Markdown or other sources, the supported approaches are:

• Copy/paste or drag-and-drop text/documents directly into a Thought’s note or as attachments.
• If you’re looking at bulk/structured import, our API can be used for automation projects.

I know this isn’t the quick import route you were hoping for, but it should explain why the issue is happening.
