Trojan in TheBrain15? #99068
https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/99068
Hello Martin,
Thank you for reaching out and for sending the screenshot.
What you’re seeing is a false positive from the antivirus software. We’ve seen this occasionally with TheBrain 15, especially with newer beta builds, because the application uses newer frameworks and runtime components that some antivirus engines flag heuristically.
TheBrain 15 is digitally signed and safe to run. There is no malware or trojan embedded in the application.
To help us narrow this down and give you the most accurate guidance, could you please let me know:
• Which antivirus software you are using (for example Windows Defender, Avast, McAfee, etc.)
• Whether the warning appears during installation or only when launching the app
In the meantime, the usual workaround is to add TheBrain to your antivirus allowlist or exclusions so it can run normally. Once excluded, the warning should not reappear.
If you’re using Windows Defender, this typically means allowing the app under Virus & Threat Protection > Protection history, or adding TheBrain’s install folder as an exclusion.
Best regards,
John
