Reply to Rene and his api validation issue #97599

Hi Rene,
Thanks for following up.
Based on our live chat, video shared, and the test you ran on https://api.bra.in/index.html, it looks like your API key and the endpoint are working correctly, your request returned a 200 OK, which confirms that access is properly set up.
If you're still getting a 401 Unauthorized error from your external tool (like Make or a custom script), the most likely cause is that it's using an outdated or different API key than the one that worked in your test. Even a small formatting issue, like an invisible space or newline, can cause a valid key to fail.
To move forward:
- Please ensure you're using the exact same API key from the successful test, copied fresh.
- Re-authorize or paste it manually in your automation tool, avoiding any saved/cached version.
- Double-check that the
Authorizationheader is exactly:
Authorization: Bearer your_actual_key_here
(no quotes, no trailing spaces)
If you’d like to send a screenshot of your setup (feel free to blur out the key), I’ll be happy to double-check the formatting.
Let’s get this working, you're very close.
Best regards,
John
