Hello Jeff,

Thank you for your patience while we reviewed the log.

The log shows that the PDF itself is being generated successfully. The failure is happening at the final step, when TheBrain tries to write the finished PDF into your Documents folder:

C:\Users\jeff\Documents

Windows is returning an error when TheBrain tries to create the file there. Since the temporary PDF generation succeeds, this points to something on the computer blocking TheBrain from saving into Documents, such as Windows Controlled Folder Access or a third-party antivirus/ransomware protection feature.

Please try this quick test first:

Export the PDF again, but choose your Downloads folder instead of Documents.

If saving to Downloads works, then the issue is almost certainly folder protection/security blocking TheBrain from writing to Documents.

Then please check:

Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Ransomware protection

If Controlled folder access is turned on, check Protection history for blocked events around the time of the export attempts. You may see TheBrain listed there.

If so, choose Allow an app through Controlled folder access and allow TheBrain from the install folder. Please add:

TheBrain.exe

and also:

TheBrainHost.exe

if it is present.

The PDF saving may be handled by a background TheBrain process, so allowing only the main app may not be enough.

If you use a third-party antivirus such as Avast, AVG, Bitdefender, or similar, the same type of setting may be under that program’s ransomware protection or protected folders section instead.
