Thank you for your patience while we checked this.

The BrnTmp folder is a temporary working folder used by TheBrain during sync, backup, and similar operations.

For example, during sync, incoming data may go into BrnTmp first before it gets bundled and added into the Brain’s database and file system. During a .brz Brain Archive backup, TheBrain may also output data into BrnTmp first, then zip and bundle it into the final archive file.

So the matching Notes.md files you are seeing are not something I would recommend manually cleaning up as normal duplicate files. TheBrain will clean up the BrnTmp directory automatically as needed when it is done working with the data inside it.

Please do not delete random files from that folder manually.
