Update to #100206

https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/100206

Hello Robert,

Thank you for the follow up.

Yes, Microsoft is correct that Smart App Control is not like a normal temporary allowlist setting. In many Windows configurations, once it is turned off, turning it back on may require reinstalling or resetting Windows, so I understand not wanting to do that.

TheBrain’s installer is safe, but Smart App Control can still block legitimate applications based on Microsoft’s own reputation and security checks. Unfortunately, Smart App Control does not provide the same kind of simple “allow this app” option that older SmartScreen prompts sometimes did.

If your current TheBrain 14 version is working normally, you do not need to force the 14.0.115 update. That build includes more specific fixes for issues some users reported, so if you are not running into those issues, it is fine to stay on your current working build for now.

The next time the update prompt appears, you can check the option to not show that update again.

Best regards,

John
