Alan Shaw, Markdown import duplication #100370
https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/100370
Hello Alan,
Thank you for the detailed explanation. Your workflow makes sense, especially if you are using Markdown files as a growing source set for the Brain.
We would like to test this with a small reproducible example before confirming whether the behavior is expected or whether the import is not merging as intended.
Could you please send us a simple sample set?
• One or two .md files used for the initial import
• One additional .md file that you import afterward using Add to [brain name]
• If possible, one modified version of an existing .md file that causes the duplicate thought to be created
• A screenshot of the Markdown import options you are using, including Merge folder and same named .md file into a single thought
Please do not send the full engineering research folder unless you are comfortable doing so. A small sample with non confidential content is enough, as long as it reproduces the duplication behavior.
For now, if you are only adding new Markdown files, the safest workaround is to import only the new files rather than reimporting the full folder. You can also import Markdown into a selected thought, depending on where you want the new thoughts placed.
Best regards,
John
