Sync Follow-Up for Extender Tracking and Clients Thought #101227

https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/101227

Hello TJ,

Thank you for your patience while we reviewed the logs from both devices.

There are two separate issues here, so I’ll separate the steps.

Issue 1: Extender Tracking.xlsx not updating on the Surface tablet

This is the Excel attachment in TJ’s Brain that was updated on the Venom laptop, but did not show the updated version on the Surface tablet.

We identified the cause for this attachment-sync issue, and a fix is scheduled for TheBrain 15.0.580.

Once 15.0.580 is available, update using:

Main Menu > Help > Check for Updates

If you need to resolve this before 15.0.580 is available, do this on the Surface tablet:

Option A: Turn off Light Sync Attachments for that Brain:

Main Menu > Settings > Brain > Sync > uncheck Light Sync Attachments

Option B: Refresh only that spreadsheet attachment:

Right-click Extender Tracking.xlsx, uncheck Available Offline, then right-click it again and re-check Available Offline. The next time you open the spreadsheet on the Surface tablet, it should download the current cloud copy.

Issue 2: Clients thought appears on Surface but not on Venom laptop

This is the Clients thought/subtree in First Hill Networking.

First, please check the Web Client:

https://app.thebrain.com

Open First Hill Networking there and check whether Clients and its child thoughts appear correctly.

! If Clients is missing in the Web Client, please stop there and let us know. !

If Clients appears correctly in the Web Client, then the cloud copy is likely correct, and the Venom laptop may need a fresh local copy of First Hill Networking.

Before removing any local copy on the Venom laptop, please make a full backup/copy of the local Brains folder and store it somewhere safe.

After that, remove only the local copy of First Hill Networking from the Venom laptop, then re-download that Brain from the cloud.

Please do not delete anything from the Web Client or from the cloud.

Best regards,

John
