Two PC users, one brain question #98439

Hello Michael,
Thank you for the detailed question, that’s a good one.
Each Windows user account runs TheBrain in its own environment, which means a separate local Brains folder is created under each user’s directory (for example:
C:\Users\mjf-personal\Brains and C:\Users\mjf-business\Brains). This is the normal and recommended setup.
Even if both logins use the same TheBrain Cloud account, each Windows profile keeps its own synced local copy to prevent file-access conflicts. We don’t recommend pointing both user accounts to a single shared Brains folder, since TheBrain isn’t designed for simultaneous access by multiple Windows sessions, it could lead to data corruption or sync issues.
The best approach is to let each Windows login sync independently through the cloud. Just make sure each one completes a full sync before switching to the other account so the cloud stays up to date.
Best regards,
John
