Thank you for the clarification, that helps.

In TheBrain 15, attachments that appear inside a note can be rearranged, but the current drag and drop behavior is still being improved. If you are finding it difficult or inconsistent to reorder them, that is expected in the current beta and will continue to improve in upcoming releases.

Regarding whether it is better to make files into child thoughts, many users prefer this because thoughts are easier to organize, tag, sort, and link. Files inside notes can work fine, but child thoughts give you more control and visibility.

If you want to turn a file in the note into a child thought, you can simply drag the attachment out of the note and drop it into the plex. TheBrain will create a new child thought containing that file. This is the easiest way to “promote” an embedded file into its own thought.

If anything still behaves unexpectedly, feel free to send a screenshot and I will take a look.
