Resolved brainbox issue #99552
https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/99552
Hello John,
Great to hear the web update resolved the earlier issue. Thanks for confirming.
On your questions:
BrainBox is designed as a cloud based inbox first. When you share something from mobile or the extension, it is sent to your BrainBox in the web layer. The desktop app then syncs that content down to your local brain. That is why you see the sequence of syncing, then downloading the attachment, then adding it into your brain structure. It is moving from cloud storage into your specific brain database.
Regarding posting directly into an already open desktop brain, that would be a different workflow from the current BrainBox design. BrainBox intentionally separates capture from organization. If you would prefer a direct to open brain capture flow, that would be best submitted as a feature request here:

On sync timing, a few seconds is typical, but if you are seeing noticeably longer delays, let me know roughly how long and on which device so we can better understand what you are experiencing.

Appreciate the thoughtful feedback. It is helpful as the team continues refining the experience.
Best regards,
John
