ANOTHER FULL META AND BRAIN RESET (MACOS) #95062

https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/95062

Hello Mark,

Thank you for your patience as we further investigated the issue. Based on our findings, it seems a reset of your MetaDB file and Brain data directory will help resolve the problem.

Before proceeding, please ensure all your Brains are backed up either as .brz files or synced to the cloud. If your data is not backed up, please do so first to avoid any data loss.

Once your backups are secured, follow these steps:

1. Reset the MetaDB File:

  1. Navigate to:

Macintosh HD/Users/[your username]/.TheBrain/v9/MetaDB/TheBrainMeta.db.

Note: The.TheBrainfolder is hidden by default.

  1. To access it:
    • Open Finder.
    • Click Go in the menu, then Go to Folder.
    • Type ~/.TheBrain (without quotes) and press Enter.
    • Navigate to v9/MetaDB.
  1. Locate the file TheBrainMeta.db and rename it to TheBrainMeta.db.old.

2. Rename the Brain Data Directory:

  1. Go to:

Macintosh HD/Users/[your username]/Brains.

  1. Inside the Brains folder, you should see one or more folders named something like U00, U01, etc.
  2. Rename the Brains folder to BrainsOriginal.

3. Restart TheBrain:

Once these steps are complete, restart TheBrain. This should allow you to start fresh with your software setup.

If the issue persists, feel free to reach out and send us a fresh log file so we can investigate further.

We’re here to assist if you have any questions or need further clarification.

Best regards,

John
