Update to #99139
https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/99139
Hello,
Thank you for your message.
The Notes.md file you’re seeing is simply the local file where TheBrain stores the note content for that specific thought. It’s normal for it to contain personal notes, text, and references related to that thought.
In the copy you sent us, we found that the note contains references to a few embedded images that no longer exist in the Thought Folder. Only one actual image file is present, while the note still points to others that were likely deleted, moved, or imported from another Brain at some point.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to automatically restore those missing images, since the original files are no longer present. The only way to resolve this is to:
- Open the note
- Remove the broken image references
- Re-insert the images again if you still have the originals
If your goal is simply to remove personal content:
- You can edit the note directly inside TheBrain and delete any text or images you no longer want.
- If you delete content from the note and save it, it will be removed from Notes.md as well.
I also want to reassure you on privacy:
We did not need to review the content of your notes in detail. The files you shared were only used to identify the technical issue, and the attachment you sent has already been removed. Once this ticket is closed, the record of that attachment will be deleted as well.
Best regards,
John
