Null Exception Webclient and Brain Too Big on Small Iphone #99355
https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/99355
Hello Oliver,
Thank you for sending the error details. I understand this is frustrating, especially since it’s affecting both the web client and your phone.
Regarding the web client error
The exception you shared indicates that something unexpected occurred while the Brain view was being refreshed, but it doesn’t tell us on its own what action triggered it. To help us investigate, could you please let us know:
- What you were doing immediately before the error appeared (for example, opening a specific Brain, switching views, or navigating between thoughts)
- Whether this happens every time you open the Brain on the web, or only intermittently
- Which browser you’re using
If the error appears again, simply refreshing the page or signing out and back in may help temporarily, but we’d like to understand what’s causing it.
Regarding the iPhone SE display issue
On smaller-screen devices like the iPhone SE, system display settings can affect how the Brain view renders. As a quick check, please try the following on your phone:
- Go to Settings → Display & Brightness
- Check whether Display Zoom is enabled
- Check Text Size and try reducing it slightly or reduce scale size.
- Reopen the app afterward
If the thoughts still don’t appear in the upper portion of the screen after trying this, please let us know and include your iOS version so we can look further.
Once we have a bit more detail on the web error and confirm your mobile settings, we’ll be in a better position to advise next steps.
Thank you for your patience, and we’ll work through this with you.
Best regards,
John
