You’re correct: when you insert a web link directly in the notes section, there isn’t a built-in “Rename” option in the dropdown. The current way to name a link is exactly as you described, type the text first, highlight it, and then use Insert Thought or Web Link so the display text becomes editable.

As a tip, if you paste a link into a thought or the notes section, you can also long-click (or drag slightly) on the link and then start typing, this will let you overwrite the display text to rename the URL.

I’ve shared your suggestion with our team to consider adding a Rename option directly to the link menu in notes, as that would make the process clearer and more consistent with Attach > Link to URL.
