Metadb reset windows #95587
https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/95587
Hello Giorgio,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
The error you encountered occurs because the default folder directory used to store your Brain locally has either been moved or corrupted. To resolve this, first, make sure that you can still see your brains at http://app.thebrain.com (i.e, it is synced to the cloud) or if you already had backed up your data via .brz, then you can perform a MetaDB reset by following these steps:
- Navigate to:
C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\TheBrain\MetaDB
Note: If AppData is not visible, enable hidden files by clicking View at the top of the File Explorer window, then selecting Options > View tab > Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
- Locate the file named TheBrainMeta.db and rename it to TheBrainMeta.db.old.
- Restart TheBrain and log in again.
Please ensure you are in the correct directories when performing this fix. Additionally, avoid placing any Brain files in OneDrive folders, as this can cause issues with the application.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out.
Best regards and happy holidays,
John
