Navigating this Brain

For those not familiar with The Brain as a tool here are some tips on how to find your way around.

Thoughts

Each idea is captured as a 'thought' in the Brain. The nature of each thought should be explicit from its name. Thoughts can be expanded by Notes and by Attachments. This explanation is a Note. Supporting documents can be included as attachments or links. Sometimes, where the author has given permission, attachments can be down-loaded.

Click on a thought to make it the Active Thought and see any notes and attachments.

Child Thoughts

A thought can give rise to other thoughts. These are referred to as 'children' and appear below the parent thought. This hierarchy is not enforced so circular dependencies are possible. Yes, you can be your own Grandpa (or ma).

There are also Jump Thoughts that appear to the left of the active thought. These contain related ideas that are not necessarily part of the family hierarchy.

Lost?

Click on the thought history at the bottom to re-trace your steps or use one of the Pinned Thoughts at the top to get you back to somewhere familiar.
