Overview: California Dreamin', with current locations in Sacramento situated in the heart of Cal Expo, and another location in San Jose California, is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Retail Attendants. Retail Attendants play a crucial role in providing exceptional guest experiences by assisting with merchandise sales and delivering top-notch customer service in park shops. Key Responsibilities:

1. Merchandise Sales:

• • Greet customers warmly as they enter the retail shop, engaging them in conversation to determine their needs and preferences.
  • Assist customers in finding the products they are looking for, offering recommendations and providing information about merchandise features, pricing, and availability.
  • Process merchandise sales accurately and efficiently using a point-of-sale (POS) system, scanning items, processing payments, and providing customers with receipts and change as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of current promotions, discounts, and special offers, informing customers of available deals and encouraging them to take advantage of savings opportunities.
    

2. Customer Service:

• • Provide exceptional customer service to all guests, addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and ensuring that each guest has a positive shopping experience.
  • Answer questions about merchandise, park amenities, and attractions, offering helpful suggestions and guidance to enhance guests' enjoyment of their visit.
  • Handle customer complaints or issues professionally and promptly, escalating complex matters to the Retail Manager or supervisor as needed and following up to ensure satisfactory resolution.
  • Ensure all actions and interactions are aligned with the park's cultural values, norms, and behaviors, supporting the organization's mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
    

3. Merchandise Display and Presentation:

• • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the retail shop, including merchandise displays, shelves, racks, and fixtures, ensuring that products are neatly arranged and attractively presented.
  • Assist with restocking merchandise as needed, replenishing inventory on shelves and racks, and rotating stock to ensure that products are fresh, in good condition, and readily accessible to customers.
  • Monitor merchandise levels and inform management of low inventory or out-of-stock items, participating in inventory counts and assisting with ordering and receiving merchandise shipments as directed.
    

4. Cash Handling and Transactions:

• • Handle cash, credit card, and other forms of payment securely and accurately, following established cash handling procedures and balancing cash register drawers at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Process transactions efficiently, ringing up sales, applying discounts or promotions as applicable, and providing customers with receipts and change in a timely manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of financial transactions and sensitive customer information, adhering to company policies and procedures regarding privacy and data protection.
    

5. Team Collaboration:

• • Collaborate with fellow Retail Attendants, supervisors, and other park staff members to coordinate daily operations and ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, sharing information about sales trends, customer feedback, and inventory needs to support teamwork and optimize performance in the retail shop.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, or hospitality industry preferred but not required; comprehensive training will be provided.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with customers and team members.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills and proficiency in using POS systems or cash registers for processing transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry merchandise, and work in a crowded and fast-paced environment.
