Learning To Learn is Important while young

Because the intelect of gifted children is so high they can kind of cruise through the early years of school only to arrive in university and have no idea how to learn because now they are not able to lean only on their intelect.

Ramping up the learning experience through the early years will offset this.

It like entering an open game and you enter at level one but then find yourself at level 100, unfamiliar with all of the steps and how to find and use the tools etc.
