AMST Woodworking Bench
October 2024:
RSales designed and made this bench at the Akaroa Men’s Shed in Oct 2024. Had help from other members mainly because it became so heavy. 3360mm long x 865 ht. x approx 780mm dp. 265 lift out plywood well space (cut in 1/4, 1/2, & 1/4 lengths) over sub-framing .
Purchased and fitted the Hafco 230mm Wood Vice.
Made the adjustable height bench end stop/vice from Kwila with old 1/2” bed bolts & LVL home made spinning nuts. Most of the work top was old Southland Beech planks originally installed as a work bench fixed to the wall of the shed. Demolished when floor was resurfaced with resin topping - Sept 2024.
Complete with a sliding Deadman along the front with Kwila dowel pinned block.
I purchased the plastic bins and fitted them out with multiple cut of 2L milk bottles to use for miscellaneous screw/dowl/bisuit & tool storage.

Note Chisel Rack on wall behind. He made that too back in about 2020. Plus the mallet from a piece of Men’s Shed English oak.
