xiv lines is divided into five major sections; viz. Poetically Speaking, Poetry Showcase, Snippets, The Yellowed Page and Working with (other poets).
Noteworthy:
- Poetically Speaking deals with topics directly related to poesy and prosody. It is here that you will find the more technical details concerning aspects of the construction and composition of poetry.
- Poetry Showcase provides examples of poetry in various forms.
- Snippets consists of book reviews and shorter examples of poetical works.
- The Yellowed Page includes essays concerning poetry but not necessarily their construction and composition.
- Working with considers the work of other poets in terms of construction, theme and scansion. (Not always for the lighthearted.)
- A separate section for Recitation (Audio) has been included.
- In each section, essays are listed with the most recent first.

xiv lines is a site that explains and promotes the poetry of poets along with essays pertaining to things poetic. Ferrick Gray, the owner of this site, is a poet, prosodist and critic. His expertise is in metrical analysis and explaining why verses are as they are and not otherwise. He lives on his property in Southern Queensland, Australia.
