Hero Image Tips
Note
- If you enable hero images, ALL large images will display as heroes
- You can only control what part of the image displays as a hero by carefully controlling the size and shape of the image itself.
- Ugly hero images can be deleted at the icon level.
- Videos may also display as unattractive hero images < MZ: Check & confirm
Hero images are shown when the image is 150,000 bytes or larger. This is not documented because it may change in the future and at some point we may adjust this to be based on the actual pixel size instead. < Changed to dimensional sizing in TB15 > Update from Harlan:
- Hero images must be a minimum size of 500px wide and 100px tall.
- Wallpapers do not have any minimum size.
The aspect ratio of the image changes because the image is scaled to cover the full width while never exceeding 25% of the height of the available height.
Hero images are not appropriate for cases where you need to ensure what parts of the image are visible (text and charts, will generally not work).
Generally, the edges of the image will not be visible.
If you want to display an image without the edges being cut off, simply add it to your note.
