★ Reminders: Switching Between TB15 and TB14
- TB14 & TB15 can both be installed on the same device, but they cannot run at the same time.
- Turn OFF light sync in TB15 if you think you might want to log into TB14 after installing TB15.
- Note: When you initially install TB15, a modal window will pop-up within the TB (immediately after installation), and it will explain how to make this switch.
★ Switching Warnings
- Your custom preference settings in TB14 may be lost when you switch back to TB14 from TB15.
- Switching back and forth between these two versions may also trigger TB15 to spontaneously reindex.
- In light of this, I do not recommend switching back and forth, if either (or both) of these issues would be problematic for you.
★ TheBrain 15 Limitations
- Installation of TB15 now requires admin privileges, not available to many corporate users. < MZ: Check to see if this issue has been resolved
- Currently, the following API links will all open in TB15 once TB15 is installed, which may be limiting for those who want to actively use the TB14 API while TB15 is installed.

- TB Support Update: If you truly wish to launch only v14, then you will have to delete v15 until we go stable. The most recent version will be considered the default, and you can't change that.
★ How to Safely Delete TB15 with TB14 Installed
- On v15, review each brain and make sure that light sync is turned off and all brains have been recently synced.
- Other than that, a normal uninstall process is all that is needed. No problems in v14 will occur.

- 09.07.25: The main benefit of v15 . . . "is a unified platform across all devices including iOS, Android and the web client".
- 07.25.25: "TheBrain 15 is around the corner it's a monumental upgrade. It will take some effort to get used to the new ways things are done and there are probably a few minor things that will not be making the transition. But, every major feature WILL be included. If somehow we've overlooked something we'll identify it as part of the beta process."
