Status
- 05.08.26: Issue noticed again, and reported in forum, along with attached screenshot above
- 05.22.26: Same search is still failing in v15.0.555
- Later: All searches now failing in multiple brains in the web client
- 05.22.26: Under review >
Support said it was fixed> Later:: Tested again:- HUGE disparity between search results in desktop and in web client
- See 2 pairs of attached screenshots
- 06.14.26: Search is failing completely in the web client
- 06.14.26: Support restored the web client search
- 06.15.26: I shared 4 screenshots (see above) illustrating how the desktop and web client search results still do not match in 2 different public brains
- 06.16.26: Support recommended reindexing within the web client
- 07.12.26: Reindexing seemed to solve the problem. > Shared my outstanding questions:
- Should reindexing in the web client be done periodically as basic maintenance? If so, how frequently do you recommend?
- Or should reindexing only be necessary if:
- I'm having search issues in the web client or
- If there's been a major web client update?
- if I start indexing a megabrain, do I need to keep my browser window open and/or stay logged in until the indexing is finished?
We have been working to make the search in the web client more reliable recently and I believe we may have implemented a significant milestone late last week.
Under normal circumstances reindexing should never be needed. Doing it will degrade the search in your brain while it completes and it does not help unless something went wrong earlier.
If we ask you to reindex then all you have to do is initiate it and it will continue on the server regardless of whether you close the browser.
▷ MZ Follow-up
- Check search (in both brains) again soon (comparing with desktop) to confirm whether these search issues have finally been resolved or not.
