What are back.ignore Files?

Question #1

See attached screenshot:

• What are these back.ignore files, and why are they are showing up in my notes folders?
• May I assume I can safely delete them whenever I find them?

Reply

Those are backups of your notes. You can rename to .md in a new directory if you wish. Just a safety precaution in v15 in case we introduce something that corrupts note files. They have not been needed so far!

Question #2

Will TheBrain include these files for the foreseeable future?

• Or are they simply an interim safety precaution during TB15 Beta? < Reply pending . . . .
