The laboratory developed through establishing shared references, analysing context and audience perception, introducing Triangles and Lines, creating five-minute self-presentations, investigating postmodern dance and reduced codes, collective instructions, interrupted intentions, partner manipulation, repetition and collage, labels and transformations, memory questions, Huddle, Tallinn public space, a showing and Artist Talk.

PERFORMANCE-MAKING POSITION

Structures were not complete performances in themselves. They investigated attention, presence, decision-making, audience readability, responsibility, duration, relation and context.

OBSERVATION

The group frequently divided into doers and observers. Observation was treated as equally important to doing.

FAILURE

Mart sometimes withholds information so participants encounter failure. Failure supplies information about unclear rules, anticipation, over-performing, lack of attention, collapse of structure and audience readability.
