THE MOVEMENT IS ENOUGH
THE MOVEMENT IS ENOUGH
The workshop rejects the assumption that movement must become:
- more technically difficult;
- more spectacular;
- more institutionally recognisable
before it can carry complexity.
Line dances and social forms already contain:
- history;
- relation;
- rhythm;
- organisation;
- cultural meaning;
- technical intelligence.
The task is not necessarily to add more movement.
It is to attend more precisely to what is already present.
Meagre means can produce expansive results through:
- time;
- care;
- repetition;
- attention.
